Power 98 Morning Show Co-Host Brings Home The Queen City Awards Recognition

Announced at Queen City Awards on December 10, 2011, a new-comer to the city received the award for “Radio Personality of the Year.” Even with being new to the city, she is already well known on the radio as the co-host of the Morning Maddhouse on WPEG Power 98 in Charlotte, NC. There is obviously no questioning why Yasmin Young has won “Radio Personality of the Year.”

From listening to hip hop cassettes in elementary school to interviewing our very own President Obama, she has come a long way and is grateful for being recognized as an amazing talent and for the work she has done over the past year.

This will not be the last you hear about Ms. Young, as she stated, "In 2012, I plan on representing the title to the fullest by continuing to entertain my listeners and my involvement in the community!"

In 1997, Yasmin began working as a radio personality at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Fl.  She has hosted and spun at events for Verizon, Geico, Hines Ward, Ford Flex Tour, CIAA and For Sisters Only. She also played at numerous clubs across the southeast. Yasmin enjoys bringing the energy of her job to others. “I can't play an instrument or sing a note to save my life,” she admits, “but being on the radio and a DJ puts me as close as I can get to the music.”
